GetBlock RPC competitor monitor — 2026-09-19
Criterion of the day: Account abstraction, wallets and gas sponsorship: ERC-4337, bundlers, paymasters and smart wallets (account-abstraction-wallets).
Executive summary
Today’s consolidation produced two positive evidence upgrades and one attribution correction. Alchemy now has direct public evidence across all four comparison dimensions; Blockdaemon has direct ERC-4337 and paymaster evidence; and Blast API’s previous capability attribution was removed because its legacy documentation redirects to Alchemy while Blast itself is deprecated. Tatum’s already evidenced gas-sponsorship and MPC Smart Wallet claims remain unchanged.
Most page hashes marked as changed were caused by shared navigation/promotional updates such as the Arc mainnet banner and product-menu changes. They are not treated as account-abstraction market changes.
Decision-relevant changes
- Alchemy — Smart wallets upgraded to publicly evidenced (now 4/4). The current documentation describes gasless transactions with advanced smart-wallet features, smart-account transaction APIs, a Bundler API and Gas Manager. Pricing explicitly names ERC-4337/EIP-7702 transactions, bundler sponsored operations and Paymaster API. Sources: pricing, Bundler, Gasless Transactions, wallet docs.
- Blockdaemon — ERC-4337 and paymaster cells upgraded (now 2/4). The direct Get Paymaster Data reference says it returns paymaster data for account abstraction and documents ERC-4337 user-operation fields. A textual reference to compensating “the bundler” is not enough to classify a managed bundler product, so that cell remains unverified.
- Blast API — prior 4/4 capability attribution removed. Blast states that its products are no longer available. Its old docs URL redirects to Alchemy; Alchemy’s current features cannot be attributed to Blast.
Provider-by-provider evidence review
| Provider | Criterion result on 2026-09-19 | Direct sources / limitations |
|---|---|---|
| QuickNode | No account-abstraction dimension verified from monitored pages | home, pricing, enterprise, blog, chains. Changelog returned 404. Changed pages were dominated by Arc/navigation/product-menu copy, not criterion evidence |
| Alchemy | ERC-4337, bundler, paymaster/gas sponsorship and smart-wallet dimensions directly evidenced | pricing, Bundler, Gasless Transactions, docs. The monitored chain-reference and old customer-story URLs returned 404, but the positive claims use working direct pages |
| Infura | No dimension verified from the monitored Infura surfaces | home, pricing, docs. The blog redirects into MetaMask developer content; no capability is inferred from corporate proximity |
| Chainstack | No dimension verified | home, pricing, docs. Detected changes were shared Arc/navigation copy |
| Ankr | No dimension verified | home, RPC, docs. Documentation index search yielded no direct criterion hit |
| Moralis | No dimension verified | home, pricing, docs. Wallet Data API wording is not treated as smart-wallet/account-abstraction evidence |
| NOWNodes | No dimension verified | home, pricing, nodes. Legacy Postman documentation URL returned 404; page changes did not establish criterion capabilities |
| dRPC | No dimension verified | home, pricing, docs. Changed pages reflected Arc/chain-list and general product copy |
| Blast API | Service deprecated; 0/4 attributed capabilities | deprecation notice. Legacy docs redirect to Alchemy and are not Blast evidence |
| Blockdaemon | ERC-4337 and paymaster directly evidenced; bundler and smart wallets remain unverified | Get Paymaster Data, docs home. Monitored /blockchain-api and /pricing URLs returned 404 |
| Tatum | Gas sponsorship and MPC-based custodian Smart Wallets remain evidenced; ERC-4337 and bundler remain unverified | home, pricing, Smart Wallets FAQs. Old supported-blockchains URL returned 404 |
| Pocket Network / Grove | No dimension verified; operating-status caveat added | Grove says it is winding down; Pocket Network continues. Grove docs DNS lookup failed |
| LlamaRPC | No public evidence could be verified | Homepage and chains returned HTTP 526; docs and status hostnames failed DNS resolution. This is an extraction/availability gap, not proof of absent capabilities |
| Allnodes | No dimension verified | home, pricing, help. /nodes and /blog returned 404; changed content concerned bare metal, pricing and navigation |
| Lava Network | No dimension verified | home, docs, blog. Monitored /developers and /network paths returned 404 |
Matrix changes applied
- Alchemy: Smart wallets changed from
Not publicly verifiedtoPublicly evidenced; retained ERC-4337, Bundler and Paymaster evidence with stronger direct product/docs links. Coverage moved from 3/4 to 4/4. - Blockdaemon: ERC-4337 and Paymasters changed from unverified to
Publicly evidenced; coverage moved from 0/4 to 2/4. - Blast API: all four prior positive cells removed; row now records service deprecation and disallows attribution from redirected Alchemy docs. Coverage moved from 4/4 to 0/4.
- Tatum: retained 2/4, but clarified that the evidenced Smart Wallet product is MPC-based custody and should not be assumed to be ERC-4337.
- All other providers: refreshed to 2026-09-19 and kept conservative
Not verified in monitored public evidencestatus.
Cross-provider implications
- Only 3/15 monitored providers now have at least one directly evidenced dimension; Alchemy is the only 4/4 provider in the current public-evidence model.
- Account-abstraction positioning needs precise taxonomy. “Wallet API,” “MPC wallet,” “smart wallet,” “paymaster,” “gas sponsorship” and “bundler” cannot be used interchangeably.
- The strongest research gaps are commercial and operational: chain coverage, EntryPoint versions, paymaster abuse controls, sponsorship-policy rules, user-operation pricing and contractual SLA/support.
GetBlock actions
- Sales: use a four-part discovery checklist—account standard, bundler, sponsorship/paymaster and signer/wallet custody—rather than asking only whether a prospect “needs account abstraction.”
- Product marketing: avoid broad “smart wallet” parity claims unless GetBlock can document the exact ERC-4337/EIP-7702, bundler and paymaster scope per chain.
- Content: publish a technical buyer guide comparing ERC-4337 bundlers, paymasters, gas relayers and MPC wallets, with failure modes and pricing denominators.
Collection and publication notes
- The pre-run encyclopedia publisher reported success with 130 published URLs, but it ran before this manual consolidation; the publisher must be rerun after these Markdown updates.
- The agentic-routing update reported
ok=true,paper_updated=true, with 18 evidence items, and published the living paper. Its automated evidence note is routing-related and does not change today’s account-abstraction matrix. - Raw hashes and generic navigation changes were excluded from market-change conclusions. HTTP/DNS errors are recorded only as research limitations.
